Why I started MintPack (and why you should build anyway)

I've spent more than five years designing for startups, agencies and brands. And in that time, I've seen too many people give everything to a job, only to be left wondering what it was all for.

I've also seen the other side. The people with a real idea, a side hustle, a small shop, who never quite take the leap. Not because the idea isn't good, but because starting feels expensive, technical and a little terrifying.

MintPack is my answer to that.

The problem with starting

When you're starting a business, everyone tells you to "look professional". Nobody tells you how, on a small budget, with no design background, and with a hundred other things to figure out.

So most first-time founders end up stuck between two bad options:

  • Hire an agency they can't afford yet
  • Patch something together from random templates and AI tools, and hope it looks legit

There's a gap in the middle. That's where MintPack sits.

What MintPack actually is

MintPack is a design store for small businesses and first-time entrepreneurs. It works two ways:

  1. Grab a kit. Ready-to-use Figma templates for your brand, store or business. You edit them with your own name, colours and details, and you're ready to go. No blank page.
  2. Build with me. When you need something made just for you, like a brand identity, a pitch deck, a website or ongoing design support, we build it together.

Start with what you need. Build the rest when you're ready.

Why kits and services, not just one

Because businesses don't grow in a straight line. Some days you have more time than money, so a kit is perfect. Other days you have more money than time, and you just want someone who gets it to handle it.

I wanted MintPack to work for both of those days.

What I believe

  • Start small. You don't need everything on day one.
  • Spend smart. Good design shouldn't eat your whole budget.
  • Look legit. Your business deserves to look the part.
  • Make AI your friend. Use it to move faster, not to replace your ideas.

The world moves fast now. Trends change in weeks. Tools get replaced before you've learned the last one. The scary part isn't the change. It's standing still while it happens.

So, build anyway

If you're nervous about starting, good. That means you're about to do something real.

You don't need a perfect brief, a big budget or a design degree. You need a starting point.

Next step: Explore the kits or tell me what you're building.
